The Fòrum Gastronomic was the first gastronomic congress with a trade fair, it was first held in 1999. It is now held alternately in Galicia (north west Spain) and Catalonia (north east Spain). It is a place for learning, for reflection and debate with a programme of activities designed specifically to offer the best tools to professionals, a market of products with a dynamic and participative trade fair; a real meeting place for the trade.

The Roca brothers, whose restaurant El Celler de Can Roca has been named the best in the world again and rice as cross-product will be the stars of the fifteenth edition of the Gastronomic Forum, that returns to Girona for the fifth time the 15th, 16th and 17th of November. The three owners of El Celler de Can Roca participate during the celebration of the Gastronomic Forum in different presentations.
The star product is rice, as reported by one of the organizers, Pep Palau, who explained that there will be a space dedicated to the presence of fifteen food restaurants like Les Cols laureates, Miramar or La Fonda Xesc and presentations by chefs Sergio and Javier Torres, Fina Puigdevall or Nando Jubany.

The Gastronomic Forum will feature more than two hundred exhibitors, a space of 17,000 square meters and, as a novelty, will host a dialogue on the approximation of agriculture to the world of cooking in which participate the president of the association Slow Food, Carlo Petrini, who advocates slower than Western society that imposes rhythms.
