The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Barcelona opened 17 new exclusive suites and 5 deluxe rooms, designed by architect and interior designer Patricia Urquiola, author of the original design of the hotel, which opened five years ago.

For the design of these new rooms, Urquiola is inspired by the Presidential Suite or Penthouse, where we can find a perfect balance between the European tradition and the Eastern tradition, “but now, with more warmth and a less ostentatious luxury”. With a total capacity of 120 rooms and suites, the Mandarin Hotel has expanded by including an adjacent modernist building dating from 1901, introducing the Catalan modernist elements in the decoration of the Hotel.

The new rooms have between 55 and 236 m2 and the price ranges between € 7,500 and € 8,000 for the suites and 2,000 € and 4,000 € for the deluxe rooms. The designer Patricia Urquiola has chosen for a bronze color palette for the decoration, heat-treated oak floors, light carpets, colorful pieces and decorative elements from her studio in Milan: lamps, tables, chairs, sofas and mosaics.
