The Embassy of Spain held a day for professionals to encourage luxury tourism and shopping in the country. Representatives of Spanish destinations like Barcelona, Galicia, Valencia and Andalusia, and private tour operators, participated in a workshop at the Hotel Faena Art, in order to connect with agents and promote Argentinean tourism shopping trips to Spain.

The organizer, Horacio Diaz del Barco, director of the Spanish Ministry of Tourism in Buenos Aires, said: “This evening we celebrate a very special day, it is a Day of Luxury Tourism and Shopping in Spain. It is an activity that is part of a plan that has been developed for the promotion of shopping tourism, by the Spanish government, trying to catch tourists with a higher purchasing power, so that the impact of tourism will be bigger”.

“We have identified those countries of origin that are more interesting from the point of view of shopping tourism; in Latin America they have identified Brazil, Mexico and Argentina and outside the region, China, US, Russia and Japan and Korea.

After doing business, professionals and the press enjoyed a cocktail and a tango flamenco fusion show of hands of the prestigious dancer Antonio Canales, who presented his “Complicity”. The journalist Caren Cohen was the host of the evening, which also featured the presence of Tete Coustarot and dancer Maximiliano Guerra.
